Nioka Lowe-Brennan

I am the daughter of a Dunghutti Birripi woman and artist and a Gamilaroy man, who was both a poet and musician. Culture and creative practice were the strongest elements of my life whilst growing up on Wiradjuri and Gadigal land. I now live on Dharawal country between the escarpment and ocean and practice sculpting, painting, drawing, mixed media and weaving in my home studio. I draw inspiration from the ancestors, whose presence I feel while roaming the forest and walking along our shores
